Gimnazjalny KONKURS TEATRALNY)

On 29th of April my english group was on a review of theaters in the primary school number 32 in Wapienica.

We and Mrs Bil-Malarz decided to prepare a play "Washington Square" based on the novel which has been written by Henry James. The story is about imperfect love. Cathrine Sloper (Julia Miśkiewicz) was head over heels in love with Morris Townsend (Krzesimir Dębosz). However, he "loved" her only for the money that she would inherit from her father - Dr. Austin Sloper (Stanislaw Olearczyk). We used the music which has been composed by Jan Kaczmarek. We rented our costumes and we prepared other ones by ourselves. Rehearsals took us about 3 months. Roles were not difficult for us to learn and everybody quickly entered into their roles.

Review was well organised. During the show we made no mistakes. At the end of it, individual awards were given out for each group. Julia Miśkiewicz was the best actress, Stanisław Olearczyk was the best actor, Jadwiga Walkiewicz had the prettiest costume and Aleksandra Kopecka was speaking the best in English language. We also got a nod for participation in the review.

I think that each of us spent nice time and we will remember it as well-spent day without lessons.
